My Creative Time Challenge- 1 bow, 2 patterned papers & 3 buttons

Hello!  Today I am posting by entry into the My Creative Time Challenge--1,2 &3.  I had so much fun with this.  My youngest daughter's birthday was last Friday and I took cupcakes and punch up to her pre-school class for snacks.  She just had a blast and I got some pictures of her and her friends.  I used this challenge to create a scrapbook layout for this occasion.

I used a lot of MCT dies:  the Just Simply Live set, Hello Spring Set (to make balloons), the label and the cupcake set.  This made my layout soooo easy.  I have a few close up shots of some details.  I used a bow to tie up my balloons, 2 patterned papers and 3 buttons.  The pink photo matting was ran through a sizzix folder first to emboss and then the matting was cut, to be sure that the stitching details were not damaged when embossing.  I am not sure if you can see that detail below, but it's there.
I created a larger photo matting that coordinates with the MCT dies with my Cricut and Gypsy.  I used rectangles from Plantin School and an edge from Elegant Edges to create the larger matting for a picture of my daughter.  Sorry, Emma but the small matting just could not contain her happiness that day!  I cut that matting and then embossed it with a Polka Dots embossing folder.
I  used several different cricut cartridges to cut the title and the #5 candle.  I didn't make a note of which ones, but if anyone is interested let me know and I will get that information to you.  I am including one more picture of the balloons.  I wish that I had a different bakers twine to use for the strings but I have tried not to invest a lot in twine, plus I just don't have much luck when using it.  I seem to have technical difficulties with it.
I also used some super cute ribbon that I found somewhere, not sure where now, but it worked so well with the theme.    Well I hope you enjoyed my layout and thanks for stopping by.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #123-A Banner Year

Hello, everyone!  Today I am posting my entry into the Cricut Cards Challenge.  I created a card that I will be sending to my parents for Valentine's.  I used some chevron ribbon that I got from my friend, Christy, to make a flower.  She makes bows and you can see samples at:     http://www.facebook.com/#!/AllThingsPaisley .  She has some great ribbons.  The jar die cut was from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.
The letters embossed on the hearts are from Hero Arts and the embossed stamp on the flag is from Jaded Blossom.  I am not sure what happened, but the flag appears to be a different shade of pink than when sitting at my table making this card.  I hope you enljoyed this card and thanks for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge-It's hip to be square

Hi!  Today I am posting my entry into the Cuttlebug Spot Tuesday Challenge.  I created a two page scrapbook layout for my youngest son, who is just starting to walk!  I am not sure who is more excited about walked, him or his siblings.  He just lights up as he steps.
I used my Cricut to cut out the title(B is for Boy cartridge), baby with diaper(New Arrival cartidge) , blocks(Plantin School cartridge) and the footprints(New Arrival cartridge).   On the first page I used MCT dies to cute the tag, that I have embossed with a cute little sentiment. and the journaling area.  I embossed the baby's diaper with an embossing folder that gives the appearance of square quilting.   I also used a wood grain embossing folder to do a letterpress technique that makes some of the blocks look wooden.  I have a close up of the numbered blocks farther down.
I have more photo mattings on the page with journaling areas again.  The numbers for the blocks were cut from Harmony dies.  I used some more MCT dies to cute the circle and rosette.  I need to straighten up some of my photo mattings on the layout, but it really turned out cute.

The picture above shows the wood grain detail I described previously.  I  think that technique added a lot to these blocks.  I had so much fun with the this.  I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for stopping by.

FCCB Challenge #145-Sound of Music

Hi!  I'm posting my entry into this weeks FCCB challenge.  I made a card this week.  I used the .Plantin and Paper Lace2 cartridges.  This is a card that I will send to my grandmother.  She will be grad to see this card.  She loves roses and I put just a little paper with roses on this card.  I also printed some paper with my Imagine from the Heirloom cartridge, that is the paper with the instrument pattern.  I also embossed the base of my card with Polka Dots folder and I embossed the music notes with D'vine Swirls.  I made my music notes by welding hearts from Plantin and the music notes from Paper Lace2.
I embossed my sentiment on brown paper with brown sugar embossing powder.  I also added a few  glitter studs with my i-Rock tool.
I stamped a sentiment inside the card to complete it.  I hope you enjoy this card.  I didn't realize until I finished up my card that one of the designers had used something similar to the music notes on her card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Trendy Twine January Challenge: Show Us Your Mittens

Hello!  This is my entry for the Trendy Twine Challenge.  I made a scrapbook layout.  I am going to place a picture of my youngest daughter playing in the snow, the day after Christmas.  She had such a big smile and was so happy to be playing in the snow.
I started out with a pink chevron pattern.  The mittens are on the vertical strip.  I used snowflake diecuts and button.   I used embroidery floss on the buttons.
My daughter just loved the layout.  She was tickled pink.  Hope you enjoyed the layout and thanks for taking a look.

Cardz TV Stamps DT Challenge #22

Hello!  How are you doing today? I have been busy with my oldest two kids 4H journals and then I was sick yesterday.  I am posting my entry into the Baby New Year Challenge.  My son's teacher is expecting a baby and up until last Thursday, the sex was unknown.  I had been making this yellow and teal card for her little bundle of joy, but she found out it was a girl.  I will for sure be making another card for her with all the girly frills.  I finished up this card and have put it in my stash.  The card and envelope is cut from MCT dies and I made a gift card holder for a special gift for the mother.  I wanted to give her something special.  Here is the card and envelope for the baby's gift, I am going to let Steven (my son) choose that gift.
The flower on the outside of the card are cut from the  Forever Young cartridge.  I stamped a Jaded Blossom candy sentiment on the flower center.  I placed three teal studs on the ribbon.  The mattings on the inside of the card were cut fromt he Storybook cartridge and I used the New Arrival cartridge to cut out the cute little feet.  The sentiments on the inside of the card are from My Pink Stamper.  I tried to add a little dimension to this card by embossing the  top fold (the white section), you really can't see this in the picture.  The  envelope was embossed (with Polka Dots) as well and you really can't see that either.  I used a flower cut from Forever Young cartridge and used another Jaded Blossom candy stamp on a brad I created.
I wanted to get something for his teacher as well and I made this coordinating card for her.  I will probably get her a gift card to her favorite restuarant, so that she and her husband can have a night out once the little angle is here.  I think she will appreciate that.  So here is her card.
I hope you enjoyed these cards.  Thanks for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge--Round and Round it Goes

Hello!  I am posting a card for the Cuttlebug Spot Round and Round it Goes challenge.  I was trying to come up with something creative  for a card to give my daughter and son's basketball coaches and this gave me the perfect inspiration.  When I talked to my kids about making a card from their coaches, they weren't too excited.  They changed their minds after they saw the two cards I made.  I created a card that looks like a basketball.
I used the Sports Mania cartridge to create the card and the basketball cuts.  The top layer of the basketball was embossed in the Polka Dot folder and I inked the edges and some of the embossing with dark ink.  I also created a rosette from a set of My Creative Time dies.  The #1 was from a set of Technique Tuesday stamps.  The sentiment was from another set of Technique Tuesday stamps.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this card.

FCCB Challenge #144--It's a Man's World

Hello!  Today I am posting a card for the FCCB challenge.  I actually made two cards but I would like to submit the first card in this post.  The first card is a shaped card.  I made it as an anniversary card for my husband, this is actually the second card I made.  I used the Campin' Critter cartridge to make this card.  The card is one of the features on the cartridge and then I cut the sign and all the layers.  I also cut two fish from Camp Out.   I left one of the fish as it was and the other I trimmed the fins and head off and then embossed it, to give it a little dimension.  I inked the edges of the fish and the embossing to make it pop.  I also added a line in the fish's mouth to show it "hooked".  The entire sign is placed over the base layer of the card on foam dots, that helped with the text on the bottom of this layer.
The picture above shows some more of the details.  I placed some cream burlap below the top layer.  I let some of the frayed burlap hang out below the layer and then I layered some thin red ribbon above for some added dimension.  I love the way this card turned out.  I have not stamped a sentiment in the card, I think I will just write my own in the card.

The first card I made is a masculine Valentine's card.  I had intended to submit is but something was missing I am just not sure what though.  I used the same Campin' Critter cartridge to make the sign.
I distressed the edges of of the sign and popped it up over a some masculine papers.  I added some frayed burlap to add a little texture and then added three little buttoms.  I stamped "TOGETHER" inside the card.  I think my husband will love this card.  I really enjoyed this challenge.  I ended up making two cards that weren't what you would think of as traditional for Valentine's or Anniversary.

I hope you enjoy this.  Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Playtime & Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges #1

Hello again!  I am posting a two page layout to PPT and PDE and I apologize upfront for all the photos, this was a very detailed layout.  For the PPT challenge my pets were birds and for the PDE challenge I tied ribbons to my photo mattings.  Just a little background information for the layout....On Christmas night, we had approximately 5" inches of snow and the next morning I fed birds (and took quite a few pictures) with some fresh feed and they ate the leftover reindeer food (from the night before).  There was one little bird that stayed at my feet, within 1 ft, and I sat there and took pictures for over an hour, while my kids were warming up with hot cocoa.
I stamped my title on some vellum that was cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge on my cricut, close up below.    I loved the way the vellum added a little dimension to the layout.  The photo mattings were also cut from the Elegant Edges and I tied ribbon at the bottom of each matting.  I used bird die cuts from K& Co for the birds.  I don't think that any I cut out would have looked as nice as those.  I added some studs to the photo mattings with my i-Rock tool.

On the second page of the layout, I continued with the photo mattings and I added some flowers that I cut from the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  I shaped and inked the edges of the flowers to add some dimension.  I cut greenery from the Storybook and Flower Shoppe cartridges and they were inked also to add some dimension.  I cut a sign from the Campin Critter cartridge also, I think that I could have left that off , but I decided that after it was placed.  I used vellum again for a sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed this.  Thanks for taking a look.

Jaded Blossom Challenge: Anything but a Card

Hello!  Today I am posting my entry into the Jaded Blossom Challenge.  I decide to make a two page layout.  Every year we feed Santa's reindeer and I usually get pictures of all the kids and my husband tossing out the feed.  This year was a little different, my husband got a few pictures of me helping the kids feed the reindeer.  Having six kids, only 5 of the understanding what is going on though, you understand that there was a LOT of feed tossed out.  I am not sure how the reindeer took off after eating my kids' offering and there were a lot of left overs.  Christmas morning we had a gorgeous array of birds snacking on these left overs.

I started with two sheets of coordinating paper, I think they were Recollection brand from Michaels that I picked up a couple of years ago.  I cut my title, mattings and reindeer crossing sign with my Cricut ( I will put more details below).
The next picture below has the title.  I cut "WE" from the Pooh fonts cartridge, "believe" was from the Gypsy Wanderings and the Reindeer crossing sign was made from a sign on Campin' Critter cartridge and a deer from Joys of the Season cartridge.  I used a dies and stamps from My Creative time to create the year piece and all the journaling areas.
Page two has three mattings and a jar filled with reindeer food, below.  The jar was from the Spread the Love set , Jaded Blossom .  I stamped the jar twice once on white paper and the second time on craft paper.  I embossed dots on the craft paper, to look like bird seed, and then spread glitter glue over the craft paper.  I made a flag with a sentiment from the same set, but I changed Love to Magic, sorry I had to use a My Pink Stamper for that.  I created a brad with "I believe" from the Christmas candies.  I didn't get it centered up perfectly but it fits just right on the "i-Topper" 22 mm brad.  The picture of this detail is below second page of the layout.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this layout.   See you again soon and thanks for stopping by.

Peachy Keen Challenge 13-2: Sketch

Hi!  Today I am posting my entry into the Peachy Keen Challenge.  I have created a single page layout for my boys.  A single page layout is a rarity in this household.  With six kids that generally do everything together, I don't get many opportunities to do single pages.
The base sheet is a denim print.  I trimmed burlap to make the larger matting and the strip on the bottom.  I really like the way this turned out.  I then cut a white sheet to make my smaller mat.  I then
used several stamps, from the boy themed stamps by My Pink Stamper, to create my background stamping.  I love it.  My boys helped me pick out the stamps that were used.  The sentiment on the oval was from TPC Studio and this was placed over a cut from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge.  My boys thought that it needed a truck to be masculine, so I added a truck that was stamped and embossed (truck stamp in one of the Tim Holtz sets I have).  Below is a close up of the background stamped matting and the sentiment.

Well, I hope your enjoyed my post.  Thanks for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot Tuesday Challenge: Triangles

Hello!  Today I am posting a card and envelope for the Cuttlebug Spot Tuesday Challenge:  Get into shape, triangles.  I made a card and envelope from GCD studios, Artsy Urban Melody Ross collection of papers.  The card is on the left and the envelope is on the right.

I cut the card and the envelope from My Creative Time dies.  Those two dies made creating this so easy.  Below is the a better view of the card alone.  My triangles are inside the card, as pennants.  I wanted to make my card special so I put pennants inside the card with a message, HI.

I am not sure if you can tell, but this paper has glitter all over the flowers.  I added a button to the center of the red gingham flower for a little dimension.  I also added a little ribbon to the card also.  Below is a picture of the inside of my card.  I cut the pennants from the Something to Celebrate cartridge and the letters from the Type Candy cartridge on my Cricut.  I just penned the string on the pennants.  There is still plenty of room in the card for a personal message even with the pennants.

I used a coordinating patterned paper for the envelope.  I cut a label with a My Creative Time die.  I trimmed the label up a bit and did a little distressing and adhered it to the from of the envelope, so that I could write the recipient's name.  I cut a mini tag and stamped it with a sentiment, both were from you guessed it My Creative Time.

Hope you enjoyed the card and envelope I shared today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #143: Tag You're It!

Hello.  Today I am posting my entry into this week's Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.  I created a tag for my Valentine.

>
I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and more cart to cut the tag twice, once in a double sided patterned paper by K & Co and then a second time in vellum.  I then embossed the vellum with D'vine Swirls.  I cut the large dark pink flower using the Flower Shoppe cart.  The other flowers were cut
from a die.  The greenery was cut from Storybook and Flower Shoppe carts.  I cut a flag and stamped LOVE, Jaded Blossom stamp, on it.  Below is a close up of the flowers.

On the back side I stamped to and from, from a set of My Creative Time stamps, on a label I cut from a small die.  I also stamped a small heart and flourish on this side.  The heart and flourish is from Technique Tuesday.

I hope you like my tag.  Thanks for stopping by.

Scrappy Moms Stamps: Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Hello!  Today I am submitting my entry into the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  I looked at all the inspiring projects on the blog and I found the "secret phrase", Baby New Year.  I actually completed two projects, a two page scrapbook layout and a card; but I am submitting the two page layout.

This is the first page.  I used die cuts for the snowman's banner, the journaling cards, the snowman, and all the picture mats on both sheets.  The picture mats are cut from the Cricut "Elegant Edges" cartridge.  Below are some details of the first page.  There is also glitter on part of the title.

I used several different paper patterns, some are monochromatic.  On the second page I have mattings fore three pictures and there is a sentiment at the bottom of the page.  I used glitter on two of the small sentiments that are on the mattings.

The smaller sentiments are from My Creative Time and the large sentiment at the bottom left had corner is My Pink Stamper (can be seen close up below).  I embossed my tree to add some dimension.  You can't really tell from this picture above but there is some red glitter on the small, Let it Snow, sentiment.  I really enjoyed this challenge, I tried using a few things that I normally avoid.  I used the top row:  snowflake, patterned paper, and glitter.

I was so inspired a made a shaped card.  I liked it so much I made two.  One to use now and one to put in my stash for later.

I embossed the "Nice to SNOW ya!" on my ribbon.  I would normally not try this but it worked out so well.  I just love it!  I stamped "Thanks snow much" inside the card to finish it up. Both of the sentiments on this card are from My Pink Stamper.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my projects.  I had so much fun.!  Thanks for stopping by.
